The Location of Extrinsic Afferent and Efferent Neurons Innervating The Stomach and Colon in Rat

چکیده
153 Abstract: The location of extrinsic afferent and efferent neurons projecting to the rat gastrointestinal tract were mapped using the retrograde tracer, True Blue (TB). Injection of retrograde tracer, TB into stomach, proximal colon and distal colon resulted in labelled cells in the dorsal root ganglia. Cells were also labelled in the nodose ganglia following injection of tracer into stomach and proximal colon.

Background and purpose : Muscle spindle is responsible for the control of skeletal muscle fibers function at rest and movement cycle, and is known as servo agent for voluntary movement. Function of this kinetic neceptor is completely dependent on the γ- ring activity would bring activity of la fiber and group ÏÏ spindle muscle afferent. Âlso, there is close functional of muscle relationship b...
متن کاملLeptin and CCK selectively activate vagal afferent neurons innervating the stomach and duodenum.
The hormone leptin and the gut peptide CCK synergistically interact to enhance the process of satiation. Although this interaction may occur at several levels of the neuroaxis, our previous results indicate that leptin can specifically enhance the satiation effect of CCK by acting on subdiaphragmatic vagal afferent neurons. Because of this localized action, we hypothesized that a high proportio...
متن کاملEffect of Protein Malnutrition on Efferent Projections of Amygdala to the Hippocampus
ABSTRACTIntroduction: Previous investigations have shown that protein malnutrition can alters the structure and function of some areas of hippocampal formation. We investigated the effect of protein malnutrition on amygdaloid projections to the CA1 hippocampal area. In this study we investigated level and pattern of distribution of efferent projections from amygdala to hippocampus in the rat by...
متن کاملAnatomical evidence for two spinal 'afferent-interneuron-efferent' reflex pathways involved in micturition in the rat: a 'pelvic nerve' reflex pathway and a 'sacrolumbar intersegmental' reflex pathway.
We labeled interneurons in the L1-L2 and L6-S1 spinal cord segments of the rat that are involved in bladder innervation using transneuronal retrograde transport of pseudorabies virus (PRV) in normal animals and in animals with selected nerve transections. Preganglionic neurons were identified using antisera against choline acetyltransferase (ChAT). In some experiments we labelled parasympatheti...
متن کاملThe firing rate of neurons in the nucleus cuneiformis in response to formalin in male rat
Introduction: Although formalin-induced activity in primary afferent fibers and spinal dorsal horn is well described, the midbrain neural basis underlying each phase of behavior in formalin test has not been clarified. The present study was designed to investigate the nucleus cuneiformis (CnF) neuronal responses during two phases after subcutaneous injection of formalin into the hind paw...
